FDT (Field Device Tool) / DTM (Device Type Manager) technology: FDT is a frame application providing common device interface, DTM is device-specific software component providing configuration, calibration, and diagnostics. Benefits: single application for all fieldbus types (HART, Foundation Fieldbus, PROFIBUS), consistent user interface, graphical configuration with device graphics, and advanced features beyond basic DD files. Architecture: frame application (PACTware, FieldCare) hosts DTMs from device vendors. HART DTMs provide richer interface than standard DD files.
